LOVE

Love gave me a second chance
Since my life seemed fit for nought
Burdened, broken, ever lost
To the love I sought

Yet love had often heard my cries
Witnessed my demise
My pain
Tears my testimony bore
Of this earthly strain

Love was never far away
But my eyes were dimmed of sight
Blinkered, drawn away from love
Focused on my plight

Love I heard you call my name
Softly knocking at my door
Entered and you washed the blood
From the clothes I wore

And since sweet love has set me free
Saved me from the paupers grave
Riches of the Heaven’s kind
In my heart I save.
